from: Fairmont, MN. Moved to Alaska in 1982. Occupation: Heavy equipment operator for 30 years, but now manage Midnight Sun Court Reporters. Archer: Introduced to archery by my parents in the mid 60’s. Didn't start competition archery until 2003. Club member: 3 years Started archery: because my parents were archery instructors back in the Stone Age when the VFW was big into archery. I grew up with the smell of burning feathers and cedar shafts in the house. My father made Yew bows and self bows, long before compound bows were ever thought of. So I did not really start into archery I was kind of born into it. I guess I got back into archery after a 15 year hiatus because of my son, Chris, I remember the fun I had with my father and wanted to give him the opportunity to meet a great bunch of people and learn how to be a responsible and a good archer. Kind of paying it forward.By the way Chris has been shooting since he was four. The best thing about Black Sheep: That's hard to pin down, the wonderful people I have met, the camaraderie, or the great facilities to shoot at, both indoors and outdoors. What do you shoot: Mathews Ovation for indoors and I have a Switchback for a hunting bow. |
